Salford’s Mason Advisory has been ranked one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing 2022, securing 22nd place within the medium-sized business category, alongside 92 others, with 250 organisations listed in total.

The UK wide award, launching for the first time this year, recognises organisations that place wellbeing and the forefront of their workplace culture, reviewing the psychological, physical, social and financial aspects of working life.

It employs a unique Wellbeing Model grading employee wellbeing as an outcome of six areas, including sense of fulfilment at work, interpersonal relationships, mental and physical health, work environment, financial security and work-life balance. Great Place to Work® UK administered their research-backed Trust Index© employee survey and analysed the responses of UK-based tech employees to determine their Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing.

Mason Advisory is proud of having established a great company culture, and continue to nurture this to attract, retain, and develop the best in tech talent. The independent digital and technology transformation consultancy is continually investing and implementing improvements in all these areas to build a culture of wellbeing. This has optimised employee experience and ensures that engagement and productivity are sustainable in the long run.

The organisation has implemented wellbeing activities for all employees, including assigning and training mental health first aiders, running and yoga clubs, tea and talk sessions, and access to online wellbeing and mindfulness toolkits. During lockdowns, it organised virtual team quizzes and beer tastings for staff and their families, and more recently, it established a company-wide step challenge to walk the length of Route 66 to encourage exercise and wellness through walking and raised over £3,000 for Blood Cancer.

Steve Watmough, Mason Advisory CEO, says: “Wellbeing is top of our agenda across all areas of the business, so we are incredibly proud to be recognised for our commitments to ensuring our staff are healthy, happy, and feel fulfilled at work. We understand the benefits of looking after our staff and we’ve seen positive results since we implemented wellbeing practices – our workforce is more engaged and productive, fewer sick days are taken, we retain members of the team, and our client satisfaction is enhanced. Looking after our team’s wellbeing means making their lives as stress-free as possible so they can concentrate on the job in hand, helping them to lead healthier, happier lifestyles.

“We are proud of our wellbeing practices and how we have managed to develop such a great company culture. It tells our current and future employees, and clients, that we are committed to creating the best environment we can for individuals to thrive and for our business to operate efficiently.”

“Being better for people is better for business, especially in tough times,” explained Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place to Work® UK. “When employees feel genuinely cared for, their loyalty, engagement and productivity improve. Happier people also become brand advocates for the business and will often go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for their clients and customers. We’re delighted to launch our first-ever UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing list in 2022, shining a light on the 250 companies who have succeeded in ensuring staff experience high levels of wellbeing across the organisation. Hopefully this recognition and acknowledgement will inspire more workplaces to do the same in years to come.”
