Get ready for a summer full of activity and excitement at Printworks, as Manchester’s leading entertainment complex gears up for a bonanza of free family-friendly sporting celebrations.

Weekly gaming sessions, a thrilling basketball tournament, a kids’ archery class, appearances from famous faces and a summer-long running track are all lined up. Plus Printworks’ new digital ceiling is set to dazzle visitors with animations of synchronised swimmers, divers, athletes, and cyclists, creating a truly immersive sporting experience.

Kicking things off in style on Friday (26th July), Printworks is hosting its very own opening ceremony party from 3.30pm – 6pm, celebrating all things, Team GB! Free to attend, families can do the Mobot and snap a photo with Sir Mo Farah’s wax figure courtesy of Madame Tussauds Blackpool and enjoy free multiplayer gaming sessions on Printworks’ gaming screen hosted by BBC Radio Manchester presenter, Remmel Dawodu.

There’s free face painting and free candyfloss for the first 250 visitors and then families can relax and watch the official opening ceremony from 7pm, all under Europe’s largest digital ceiling. Join us from the terraces of Tank & Paddle and Chiquito for an unforgettable experience. Hard Rock Café is also offering free hot fudge sundaes for any children with Team GB face paint on the day (with the purchase of a kid’s meal).

The excitement is set to continue right throughout August with Remmel Dawodu returning to host free weekly interactive gaming sessions on the 1st, 8th & 15th August, witness an artist live at work on the 1st creating a unique mural of an iconic sportsperson. Join us for a Slam Dunk-a-Basketball tournament on the 8th and archery on the 15th.

Kristian Brennan, Marketing Manager at Printworks, said: “We are thrilled to offer a vibrant and engaging summer of sports for families at Printworks. Our diverse line-up of free events is designed to bring people together, celebrate athleticism and create unforgettable memories over the summer holidays.”
