Meltchester is a brand new city based festival bringing together some of Europe’s best new garage rock, psych and post-punk bands.

Spread across three famous grassroots venues on the same street: Night & Day, Gullivers and The Castle Hotel. Friday May 27th 2022. Brought together by the city’s hardest working DIY group Sour Grapes Records.

Post-Punk Stage – Night & Day

Lumer – Coming off the back of a recent French tour, a support slot with Thee Oh Sees and a string of interesting festival appearances Lumer is one of Yorkshire’s hardest working groups.

Unschooling – Hailing from a few different regions of France, Unschooling return to the UK for a string of their biggest dates yet.

Ohmns – A splinter group made of the hazy post punk musicians in the North West, this Liverpudliannquartet make their much awaited return to touring.

Deaf Deaf Deaf –  A very new group based out of Manchester, coming off the back of a sell out headline at the castle in March and a short tour of the UK Deaf Deaf Deafs live set is unmissable.

Psych Stage – Gullivers

Helicon – Signed to Fuzz Club, this Glaswegian group have become a mainstay of the British underground psych scene.

The Black Delta Movement – A heady psych garage group from Hull, this group are well versed in touring across the UK & Europe, and have supported the likes of Jefferson Starship.

Farfisa – Manchester’s newest darlings of the psych rock scene, Farfisa are riding high off the back of a packed out headline show at Night & Day end of last year.

Sioux –  Another very popular manc group, with a sell out headline show of their own under their belts. A psychedelic oasis if you will.

Garage Rock Stage – The Castle

Ghost Car – The only London based band on the list, Ghost Car is an all female lineup playing earworm rock. With releases on NYs Greenway Records & Bristol’s Stolen Body Records.

Fruit Tones – Manchester’s answer to The Black Lips, this three piece have an extensive catalogue and have played shows for SXSW and also have a release on NYs Greenway Records.

The Big Peach – A pub rock band with some jive, a group of young manc lads playing their favourite rock n roll rumble. With a recent headline show at Night People, this group is a big local fave.

Chemtrails –  Signed to Swedens PNKSLM recordings, Chemtrails is a female fronted garage rock and lo-fi popband that pull in new fans at every show.
