It’s your last chance to back the Manchester Jazz Festival (MJF) Crowdfunder and support emerging musicians from across the North West.

MJF 2020 will be the twenty-fifth edition of the festival and organisers are asking their community of friends, supporters and audiences to help give the region’s best young jazz musicians the stage in their anniversary year.

The NOW’S THE TIME 2020 campaign aims to raise £5,000 to present 25 FREE gigs of the very best emerging North West artists at MJF 2020.

The campaign is open for just one more week and closes on Monday November 4.

MJF Artistic Director Steve Mead said: “Manchester Jazz Festival is the city’s longest running music festival and over our 24-year history we’ve helped launch the careers of hundreds of artists.

“Next year’s festival, running from 21 – 25 May 2020, will mark our 25th anniversary and we’ve decided to do something special – but we need your help.

“By pledging whatever you can to our NOW’S THE TIME 2020 Crowdfunder, you’ll allow us to give young regional artists vital experience of playing at a national festival, audience exposure across Manchester and the North West, and unparalleled industry opportunities

“In return we’ll stage 25 FREE and truly unforgettable gigs for the whole city to enjoy.”

Manchester Jazz Festival was established in 1996, when a group of friends decided to put on a celebration of the music they loved.

From this seed, MJF has grown to become Manchester’s longest running music festival and an integral part of Manchester’s musical landscape, synonymous with northern talent, new music and presenting the most exciting jazz artists.

Over 24 years, MJF has given over 100 artists their first high-profile gig including Beats & Pieces, GoGo Penguin, Mr Wilson’s Second Liners, Stuart McCallum, Alice Zawadzki, Kirsty Almeida, Phil Meadows, Jessica Berry, Matt Halsall, Arun Ghosh, Anton Hunter, Rioghnach Connolly, Sam Healey, Dominic J Marshall, Jon Thorne, Alexandra Ridout, Yemi Bolatiwa and Mali Hayes.

By supporting NOW’S THE TIME 2020 you can receive a number of festival benefits from gig tickets and t-shirts to hospitality packages and artists playing in your home.
