Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy is self-isolating as a precaution after a member of his family was admitted to hospital displaying symptoms of coronavirus.
The defender trained with the club yesterday.
The club is aware that a family member of a senior men’s team player is in hospital with symptoms of a respiratory illness,” said a City statement.
The news comes as Arsenal Manager Michel Arteta confirmed that he had the virus.
Chelsea Football Club announced in the early hours of this morning that its full squad has gone into self-isolation after winger Callum Hudson-Odoi tested positive for the coronavirus.
Meanwhile the Premier League will hold “an emergency club meeting” on Friday to discuss future fixtures.
