A man in his 50s, is believed to have sustained serious and life-threatening injuries in the smash on the M6 early this morning.
The accident happened around 4.15am between junction 20 to junction 19 on the M6 southbound and police say the collision involved a HGV, a white panel van and a silver Mercedes.
The driver of the Mercedes sustained the serious injuries.
Due to a fuel spillage, the M6 is currently closed between junction 20 and 19 southbound.
Diversions are in place and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
