Police are attempting to seek a witness and a victim following an assault outside a bar on Deansgate which left a man in a critical condition
The man had been assaulted outside the venue, which sits on the junction of Atkinson Street on Saturday night
It is believed there had been an altercation prior to the incident.
Two men, aged 23 and 33, were arrested on suspicion of assault. The 23-year-old remains in custody while the 33-year-old has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
As officers progress their work, they are hoping to speak to the man pictured, as it is believed that he could assist with their enquiries. He is being treated as a witness and is not a suspect in the investigation.
They are also hoping to locate a further man, who is believed to have been a victim of assault during the wider altercation.
Additionally, anyone else who has any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact officers.
Detective Inspector Leanne Gibb, from GMP’s City of Manchester district, said: “A man is currently in a critical condition in hospital, and we are still establishing the full facts of this incident.
“We have already arrested two men and we are appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch with us. You may indeed have witnessed the incident – any information you may have, regardless of how small you think it is, could be of great benefit to our investigation.”
