A man in his 60’s has died on the M61 tafter police were called to reports of a concern for welfare which further led to a collision with a vehicle between junction two and four.
No arrests have been made and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding this incident.
The SCIU are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are keen to speak to anyone who may have CCTV footage, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the incident.
