A man in his 30’s remains in a serious condition in hospital after being attacked outside a pub in Denton yesterday.

Police have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident which took place around 9.20pm outside Jolly Hatters pub on Town Lane.

It is believed that a fire extinguisher was sprayed at the victim shortly before he was assaulted.

Detective Constable Lee Maiden of GMP’s Tameside Division said: “This is an assault on a member of the public that has left him in a serious condition in hospital and we urgently need to speak to the man pictured.

“Our thoughts remain with the victim and his family at this difficult time.

“This assault took place in a busy pub environment and we’re sure there are people who can assist us with our enquiries.
