A Hindley man has been charged with causing death by careless driving and committing an act with intent to pervert the course of public justice a year after his 59 year old victim died
33 year old Jack Knowles will appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday 1 February 2023.
Knowles was driving a SUV which collided with pedestrian on Ladies Lane in Hindley in November last year
The vehicle failed to stop, leaving the pedestrian- a 59 year old woman– with horrific injuries. Katherine West had been crossing the road when the incident occurred.
Katherine was taken to hospital, where her condition deteriorated and she sadly passed away on Thursday 16 December, despite the best efforts of medical staff.
