A man and woman have been arrested after the death of a man in Pendleton this morning

Police were alerted by the ambulance service after a man died at a property on Rosehill Close.

A 48-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody for questioning.

The cause of death is yet to be confirmed, however it is being treated as suspicious and a murder investigation has been launched.

Formal identification and a Home Office Post Mortem have not yet taken place.

Detective Inspector Paul Walker of GMP’s Major Incident Team said: “My thoughts are with the man’s family at what is such a difficult time for them and we have deployed specially trained officers to offer support.

“This investigation is in its very early stages and we are working to establish exactly what happened. We have two people in custody but if you think you have any information which could help us then I would urge you to get in touch.”
