Major train disruption continues this morning after a fire broke out in the Standedge Tunnel between Marsden and Stalybridge over Saturday night
The tunnel remains shut this morning
Leeds – Manchester Victoria services are cancelled in both directions.
“Following yesterday’s fire in Standedge Tunnel (between Marsden and Stalybridge), repairs to the tunnel continue today. Trains will divert at Calder Valley where possible, with ticket acceptance and rail replacement buses in place.”
Where possible, trains will divert via the Calder Valley line. Trains that divert between Leeds and Manchester Victoria will call at Huddersfield and Stalybridge.
