Following the huge success of the London Jazz Café shows, and recently expanding internationally to New York, Mahalia Presents will be hitting the road on a UK tour this April. Kicking off in London, the show will also be visiting Manchester and Bristol first-time.

The shows will showcase seven artists across three nights, featuring James Vickery, Ruby Wood, Olympia Vitalis, Akemi Fox, Victoria Jane, Tianna and Immi Dash.

Founded by last march at London’s Moth Club by British songstress and double BRIT, Grammy and Ivor Novello award nominate Mahalia, the showcase series is respawned from an event she used to run when she was 16 in her hometown of Leicester, and strives to platform upcoming R&B artists.

With his hugely popular COLORS session amassing 36million views, James Vickery caught the attention of admirers internationally. His debut album, ‘Songs That Made Me Feel’ showcases his unmistakable voice, with notable collaborations with Musiq Soulchild and EarthGang.

Ruby Wood’s soulful yet distinctive voice has enabled her to front numerous projects such as Submotion Orchestra and Nubiyan Twist. As well as writing & recording for the likes of Krept & Konan Alfa Mist and more, Ruby released her debut EP, ‘Sincerely’, in 2023.

Olympia Vitalis stands out boldly in the soul scene, receiving backing from BBC Introducing and recently chosen asSpotify’s ‘Fresh Finds UK & IE’. Olympia showcased her talent at London Jazz Festival in 2023 and has just supported Kiefer on his UK tour.

Named as one of Manchester’s most exciting new talents to emerge, Victoria Jane has supported the likes of 6lack and Tamera, and has already performed in venues such as KOKO London, The Jazz Café and Manchester’s Band on the Wall. She is also set to perform at Cross The Tracks festival later this year.

Since the release of single ‘Lemon Tea’ in 2020, Akemi Foxhas gained over 5 million streams worldwide, performed two sold out headline shows in London and Manchester and has received extensive support from BBC Introducing. She has also been placed on various playlists on Spotify and Apple Music.

Bristol born Tianna writes of her own life experiences with an emotional nature. Her debut EP, “Morning Conversations,” released in September 2023, with singles earning spots on Spotify playlists including “New Music Friday” and “Best Jazz UK 2023”.Her single “Talk To Me” was also featured as BBC 1XTRA’s track of the week late last year, and she is set to release her upcoming project later this year.

With liquified melodies, smoky harmony stacks and atmospheric beats, Immi Dash’s sound glides into the R&B world like a homecoming. The singer-songwriter has supported Slum Village at Future Yard on their UK tour, andshowcased internationally at Rotterdam’s ‘New Skool Rules Festival’. Immi was also chosen for Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition long-list 2023.
