Staff and customers from Williams MINI will come together in a unique fundraising initiative to raise funds for Maggie's Cancer Centres

Staff and customers from Williams MINI will come together over the weekend of 20th and 21st of August in a unique fundraising initiative to raise funds for Maggie’s Cancer Centres.

Over the course of the weekend, they will partake in a virtual bike ride on exercise bikes located in each showroom. The teams will be riding a circuit between Maggie’s Manchester, Maggie’s Oldham and Maggie’s Wirral totalling 121 miles. The team who completes the most laps of the circuit, will be crowned Bike for Maggie’s Challenge winners 2022.

The five retail centres are based in Bolton, Liverpool, Manchester, Rochdale, and Stockport, and the enthusiastic Williams team are inviting customers and friends to drop in to help push their chosen location to victory. Anyone who would like to get on a stationary bike over the weekend will be given a typical Williams warm welcome and acknowledgement that their pedal power has helped raise money for such a fantastic cause.

The virtual bike ride is part of a pledge made by Williams to raise money for Maggie’s, everyone’s home of cancer care, to help raise funds to continue their fantastic work supporting those going through cancer and all their families.  The challenge to see which of the retail centres can complete the most laps will ensure plenty of fun activity over the dedicated weekend which is part of the MINI Big Love project- an initiative to celebrate life and create happiness – from the iconic car brand.

Alexandra Cook, development director at the Williams Group, says, “Raising money for Maggie’s is a great way for Williams to celebrate the MINI Big Love project to create happiness from this great iconic brand. Our virtual bike ride over the weekend is open to anyone passing by any of the Williams MINI centres, and we would welcome anyone who could join us for a short session on the bike in our showroom to help us achieve our goals. We are spreading Big Love across the North West, delivering on our pledge to support this community-based charity.”

Adds Robin Muir, centre head at Maggie’s Manchester, “We are delighted that the Williams team have once again come up with a creative and fun way to raise funds for us as part of their ongoing commitment to Maggie’s. We will be joining them over at TraffordCity to pedal a few miles and to help them achieve their ambitious goals to virtually visit all our North West centres.”
