The Refuge are throwing their own street party celebration with a difference on Friday 3rd June to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Whilst friends and family across the UK dust off the deck chairs and prep the cucumber sandwiches, Kimpton Clocktower Hotel are throwing their own street party celebration with a difference from The Refuge’s Terrace on Friday 3rd June to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in royal style.

In true Refuge style, the Jubilee Street Party will showcase a diverse range of up-and-coming talent alongside established names from around Manchester playing music with a tongue-in-cheek nod to the royal family from 2pm-10pm.

Kicking the festivities off is a collective of sisters who spin all killers and no fillers, Eves’Drop Collective. Multi-faceted vocalist Yemi Bolatiwa & The Soul Carousel, as heard on BBC Introducing Manchester and BBC 1Xtra, take the 3:30pm and 5pm slot to energise the crowds with a set full of hands in the air, feel good anthems.

A stick of dynamite in the DJ booth, Ms. Puerto Rico will be on the decks from 4.15pm, guaranteed to bring energy and bone-shakin’ bass lines to get you dancing. DJ collectives Lovescene and 2 Left Feet will also make an appearance spinning irresistible sounds from around the globe, whilst well-respected Reggae DJ, UK Hip Hop pioneer and producer Mikey D.O.N. will keep the tunes coming on the Terrace until close at 10pm when the party continues within The Refuge.
