Rock legends Liam Gallagher and John Squire filmed their new track at East Lancashire Railway

The former Oasis frontman and Stone Roses guitarist teamed up to shoot the video for their debut single Just Another Rainbow at the heritage railway.

Footage shows the pair perform their new track – released on January 5 – in a railway tunnel at the site in Bury, Greater Manchester, on December 13.

The video, produced by Jack Hartley and Lewis Nicholson from local production company Antfarm Film Services, starts with Gallagher strolling down the tunnel in a poncho before leading Squire and a backing band through a live performance in front of a historic train.

The silhouette of a 2-carriage Class 144 Pacer behind them creates a colourful, dream-like atmosphere and was retired recently from the national network.

ELR’s latest acquisition has also featured in BBC One drama, Netflix’s Sherwood, and Channel 5 show Compulsion.

The Pacer served as a commuter train for services within the north of England before retiring to the East Lancashire Railway.

Mike Kelly, from East Lancashire Railway, said: “As local lads, Ian and John know their support to the heritage railway will make an incredible impact and is greatly appreciated by all the volunteers and staff at East Lancashire Railway.

“The atmospheric location of the tunnel with the 2-carriage Class 144 Pacer was a perfect fit for the coming together of two icons.”

The Pacer also steals the limelight at the Diesel Multiple Unit Gala which will be hosted at ELR in November. Tickets are available on the East Lancashire Railway website.
