Did you set yourself a new year’s resolution to do more exercise and haven’t quite made it out the door yet due to the rain, icy conditions and windy weather?

Well, it’s not too late. A clever new app for the GM Ringway – Greater Manchester’s walking trail could be the push you’ve been looking for.

Thanks to a collaboration with the award-winning Go Jauntly app, it’s now a whole lot easier to get out on these chilly winter days. The user-friendly app means anyone can follow a GM Ringway walk on their phone.

GM Ringway offers more than 200 miles of walks around the city-region. As all of the routes are accessible by public transport, you can join each walk straight from a train station, tram stop or bus stop.

Go Jauntly – a free walking and wellness app – guides you on the 20 stages of the trail, using pictures and route maps. The app also includes ten shorter GM Ringway ’Short Adventures’, one for each borough, including several step-free routes, enabling everyone to sample the trail.

Andrew Read, GM Ringway’s project lead, said: “We hope this will encourage people to explore some of the most beautiful parts of Greater Manchester. There are lots of barriers to walkingsuch as where to go, how to get there, and is there a loo or a café on the way. Thanks to the Go Jauntly app, we’ve taken those worries away.”

Hana Sutch, CEO and Co-Founder of Go Jauntly said, ‘The team at Go Jauntly love to walk in and around Manchester so we’re very excited to welcome the entire GM Ringway to the Go Jauntly app. Enjoy over 200 miles of walks, across 10 boroughs with endless nature connection opportunities.
