Following Manchester City’s FA Cup victory this weekend, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester has honoured the winners with a replica FA Cup trophy adorning blue ribbons and their very own open-top bus parade.

City enjoyed a blistering start to the game, after captain Ilkay Gundogan scored the opener inside just 15 seconds. United pulled one back in the first half through a Bruno Fernandes penalty, before a second goal from Gundogan secured the honours for the blue side of Manchester.

Before the game, the LEGO® FA Cup trophy stood wearing both red and blue ribbons to honour the derby, however, following City’s victory, Master Model Builder James Windle ensured the winning teams’ colours were displayed proudly.

The attraction also created a special open-top bus parade for the City players, with the likes of Haaland and Gundogan Minifigures pictured proudly making their way through the attraction’s Miniland – LEGOLAND Discovery Centre’s very own mini-Manchester.

Jenn McDonough, General Manager at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester, said: “We were delighted pre-game to have both finalists come from our hometown of Manchester, so we wanted to honour both teams on a mini-pitch beforehand.

“However, there could only be one winner, so we thought what better way to mark the victory than to give Manchester City a trophy parade past Manchester landmarks in our attraction’s Miniland. City still have the Champions League final coming up next weekend, so we’ll all be watching to see whether we need to prepare another open top bus parade to honour a remarkable season.”
