Councillor Angeliki Stogia has been announced as the Labour Party’s candidate in the Gorton and Denton by-election.
Born in Greece, Angeliki moved to the UK in her teens.
She has been a Councillor for Whalley Range Ward for years 16 years she is the Executive member for Transport and Environment.
She has previously stood to become an MP for Chester South and Eddisbury where she came second in the 2024 election
