A man is being treated in hospital for serious head injuries after an incident in Droylsden last night
Police say that a man in his 30s was attacked by several people, possibly with weapons, at about 6pm on Greenside Crescent.
The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and he is in hospital being treated for serious head injuries.
Detective Inspector Paul Cawsey, of Tameside CID, said: “The investigation is at an early stage as we try to establish the motivation behind this incident that has resulted in a man being treated at the scene and in hospital.
“It is believed the assault was carried by a number of individuals using weapons that have caused serious injury to the victim.
“We have officers in the area as we continue our investigation and to provide a reassuring presence.
“We are asking members of the public with information or who were in the area last night, especially anyone with CCTV, doorbell or phone footage, to contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting log 2715-30/01/2026.”
