Factory International have announced three nights of the multi-talented Janelle Monáe, one of the most celebrated acts of our generation.

From 2 to 4 July she’ll take up residency for a series of electrifying but intimate nights of music in the Hall of the landmark new cultural venue, Aviva Studios.

After an unforgettable performance at her sold-out concert at the 2019 Manchester International Festival, this triumphant return to the city is not to be missed.

A multi-hyphenate, 10x Grammy®-nominated artist, New York Times’ best-selling author, actor, and fashion icon, Janelle Monáe is known worldwide for her inimitable style and visionary sound, which celebrates the spectrum of identity.

With multiple celebrated albums, The Archandroid (2010), The Electric Lady (2013), Dirty Computer (2018), and The Age of Pleasure (2023), numerous critically-acclaimed theatrical and television performances, and her unwavering activism for social justice and the LGBTQIA+ community, Monáe continues to be one of the most compelling and important artists of this generation.

Programmed and operated by Factory International, the organisation behind Manchester International Festival, Aviva Studios hosts a year-round programme of original productions and special events across all art forms – from major exhibitions to intimate performances and immersive experiences. Aviva Studios adds to the city’s thriving music scene, with a broad range of gigs, including in-house concerts and collaborations with local and national promotors.

Tickets will be on sale to Factory International members at 10am on Wednesday 20 March, and on general sale at 10am on Thursday 21 March.
