Is your ex a snake? SEA LIFE Manchester is helping you get revenge …

This Valentine’s Day, disgruntled lovers and broken-hearted singles will have the opportunity to name one of SEA LIFE Manchester’s corn snakes after an ex-partner.

If your ex is sneaky, secretive or simply can’t be trusted, what better way to celebrate the most romantic day of the year than by naming a snake after this not-so-special someone.

SEA LIFE Manchester is home to three female and two male corn snakes, so everyone can get involved with the naming activity and ensure their ex is hiss-tory. Typically docile creatures, which some might say is a fitting feature of their ex, corn snakes have a lifespan of 10 -15 years, so guests will be able to visit their newly named snake for years to come.

Corn snakes are one of the most popular species to own as pets in the UK, but due to their long life span, they are quite often abandoned or handed over to rescue centres. All five of  SEA LIFE Manchester’s corn snakes have been rescued by the RSPCA or donated by those unable to look after them anymore, with the attraction proud to have been able to offer these slippery serpents their forever home even if they will now be named after estranged ex’s

Visitors will get the chance to name the hissing reptile and cement their ex’s sneaky status by heading to the SEA LIFE Manchester website and submitting the name of their ex-partner.

The winners will be selected randomly by staff at SEA LIFE Manchester with the most popular names being released on the attraction’s social media channels.

Jenn McDonough, General Manager at SEA LIFE Manchester, said: “Who needs flowers and chocolates? Valentine’s Day is one of the most miserable days for singletons, so we’re giving people who are unlucky in love a new reason to celebrate by naming their former lovers after snakes.

“If you want to heal your heartbreak or release some unresolved anger, now is the perfect time to get revenge. All you need to do is submit the name of your most sly and devious ex to be in with a chance of naming one of SEA LIFE Manchester’s resident corn snakes after them.”
