He won’t ask the EU for a delay and without directly saying it threatened Tory rebels with an election if Parliament forces him into a corner.

After an unscheduled cabinet meeting followed by a garden party for Tory MP’s Boris Johnson addressed the nation from Downing Street’s lecturn

He told the public that he didn’t want an ejection and neither did they and that he was making good progress in his negotiating stance with Europe saying that moves to prevent a no deal would make further talks with the EU on a new deal “impossible”.

“Let us get on with the people’s agenda, fighting crime, improving the NHS, boosting schools, cutting the cost of living, and unlocking talent and opportunity across the entire United Kingdom.”

Earlier Rebel Tory MPs said they were prepared to vote against the government on legislation forcing Johnson to seek an extension to the Brexit deadline of 31 October, even if it meant them losing the party whip.
