An immersive VR experience will give visitors a unique chance to explore the Giza Pyramid complex like never before.
Horizon of Khufu: Journey to Ancient Egypt opening at Transmission House in the Northern Quarter on 2 April 2026 will allow people to step back 4,500 years in time as you walk the Giza Plateau, enter the King’s Chamber, witness a Pharaoh’s funeral procession, and soar above the pyramids, all guided by a virtual Egyptologist.
Developed by Excurio in partnership with Harvard Egyptologist Professor Peter der Manuelian, the experience combines breathtaking visuals with meticulous historical research, blending culture, history, and innovation in one unforgettable journey.
Included in the experience:
- The Giza Plateau: Begin your expedition at the foot of the pyramids, walking among the Great Sphinx, a solar boat, and temples as they appeared over four millennia ago.
- Inside the Great Pyramid: Enter the King’s Chamber and hidden corridors recreated in breathtaking virtual detail. Discover the architectural genius and spiritual symbolism behind every stone.
- A Pharaoh’s Funeral Procession: Join the ceremonial journey honoring Pharaoh Khufu, witnessing ancient rituals, music, and processions brought to life with lifelike animation and sound.
