A 30 year old man is being treated in hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle on Scotland Hall Road in Newton Heath yesterday evening.

The vehicle, believed to be a grey or silver hatchback, failed to stop at the scene and an investigation is underway. No arrests have been made.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has footage from around the area at the time of the collision is urged to contact police.

Detective Inspector Louise Edwards said: “This is a nasty collision which has left a man with serious injuries. Our thoughts are with his and his loved ones as he receives treatment in hospital.

“An investigation is underway and we are appealing for the public to come forward with any information that may assist us.”
