The hills are set to come alive with a dazzling musical line up for the Ramsbottom Festival, with headliners Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Gaz Coombes and Public Service Broadcasting.

Scruff of the Neck Records will also be showcasing new and exciting acts including Delamere, Glass Caves, Larkins and We Came from Wolves. A wonderful line up of family arts, theatre and fun is planned everyday of the festival.

Public Service Broadcasting will be headlining on Friday, the festival’s opening night, bringing crowds their unique live AV transmissions, weaving samples from old public information films, archive footage and propaganda material around live drums, guitar, banjo and electronics.

Following the release of his Mercury nominated album ‘Matador’ Gaz Coombes’s performance on Saturday night promises a journey through melancholy and euphoria as he tackles subjects that are both intimate and unflinchingly honest. The maturity of his new sound ebbs and flows with tension and release leaving an audience enthralled and earning him rave reviews for his live shows.

Fun Lovin’ Criminals take to the stage to headline Sunday night. Arguably the world’s finest and only purveyors of cinematic hip hop, rock ‘n’ roll, blues-jazz and latino soul vibes, Fun Lovin’ Criminals chronicled life during the mid-late 90s, in their native city of New York; while bending the global ear to the sonic possibilities of exuberant hip-hop gangster-rock merged with lounge music, funk, mariachi trumpets and ‘Bass-o-matic’ Barry White.

The success of the Ramsbottom Festival is down to the creative vision of artistic director, David Agnew of The Met in Bury. Now in its sixth year, Rammy as it is locally known, poses mix of musical genres from ska, blues, folk to pop and indie rock against the scenic backdrop of the Lancashire hills. Not to be missed is the programme of family entertainment, performance, crafts and theatre throughout the weekend.

This festival is perfect for anyone with an eclectic music taste, who prefers a smaller intimate festival experience. On sale in the beer tents is a range of craft beers from Outstanding and Silver Street Brewing Company and independent street food vendors bring a tempting and varied choice of food into the vibrant festival site.
