Ahead of this week’s level four heatwave, the iconic Great Northern Warehouse amphitheatre has reopened its newly redesigned playhouse and ever popular giant outdoor sandpit for families to keep little ones entertained – promising lots of free fun this summer

Located in the heart of the city and all outdoors, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy this week’s warm weather and guarantees little ones hours of free entertainment whilst parents relax in the sunshine.

Families can also drop by the Great Northern Warehouse activity spot Lane7 after their trip to the sandpit and treat the kids to a deliciously tasty ‘build-your-own burger’ from Fat Hippo priced at £7 including a drink or upgrade to a milkshake for an extra £2. At the venue, children can pick their patty, customise it with toppings and even add a sauce or side dish.

Cool down with an ice-cold treat and head to Almost Famous to pick up one of the famous burger restaurant’s tasty new ice cream cookie sandwiches. The new dessert consists of two freshly baked cookies with Cheshire Farm ice cream wedged between and rolled in a biscuit crumb. Guests can choose from either dairy or vegan ice cream and a range of tasty cookie flavours including Biscoff Birthday, Toffee Popcorn and Vegan Double Choc.
