Rochdale Borough Council and Hilton have signed a franchise agreement to bring a new Hampton by Hilton hotel to Rochdale’s revamped town centre.

Located at the heart of Rochdale town centre, the hotel is a short walk from the central Metrolink stop and next to the new Rochdale Riverside retail and leisure development. The 7-floor property will house 146 bedrooms, a restaurant and state-of-the-art fitness suite, complete with Peloton bike.

Hampton by Hilton Rochdale is part of the £65 million Upperbanks scheme, which is being delivered by Rochdale Development Agency (RDA) on behalf of Rochdale Borough Council. The scheme also includes a new high quality apartment development, comprising 242 apartments housed in 2 apartment blocks.

Hampton by Hilton is renowned for providing contemporary accommodation designed for quality-driven and value-conscious travellers. The hotel will feature bright modern guestrooms, complimentary wifi and the brand’s signature free hot breakfast, and will be operated by one of the UK’s leading hotel management companies, Legacy Hotels and Resorts.

Councillor Daniel Meredith, cabinet member for regeneration, said:

“It’s great to see this game changing development take another major step forward. We’re now within touching distance of the opening date and this will signal the completion of yet another part of Rochdale town centre’s ongoing £400 million regeneration programme. To bring a top brand like Hilton into the borough is testament to the strength of our investment programme and I know this will be a very popular addition to the area.”
