Whilst the industry takes the biggest hit of this decade, promoters from across Manchester & Salford have joined forces to create the new ‘Manchester & Salford Save Our Scene’ collective.

They’ll be raising funds to support local people in venues who have been impacted by forced closures as a result of UK lockdown measures in response to Covid-19.

Venues and their staff members are essential to the music scene in Manchester & Salford. The collective aims to provide financial support to workers who aren’t eligible for immediate government funding as they may be freelance, employed on a zero-hour basis, or don’t meet other criteria. On Wednesday evening the collective launched their first fundraising initiative in the form of a raffle prize draw on Crowdfunder.

At just £5 a ticket; the raffle boasts eight grand prize packages including a mysterious Pick’n’Mix’ from Mr. Scruff, a range of professional DJ & music production courses, vinyl bundles, and festival tickets to Parklife, Homobloc, and Audio Farm’s One Tribe Festival. There are also over 60 guestlist spots up for grabs, getting you into some of the best local parties and venues such as Zutekh, P13, Meat Free, Band on the Wall, B.L.O.O.M., Albert Hall, High Hoops, Homoelectric, Soup Kitchen, and many more.

This is an incredible initiative with once in a lifetime prizes to keep the vibrant community thriving. To enter the raffle and help support independent venues across Manchester & Salford, clickhere.

For those affected by the situation, the application for funds will open on Monday 6th April for two weeks. Check theManchester & Salford Save Our Scene Facebook Page to keep up-to-date with the application process and future fundraisers.
