Music industry stalwart DJ Graeme Park will play a 3-hour set on Beatstream this coming Saturday (8th August) to celebrate his 57th birthday with fans and friends around the world.
On Saturday 8th August from 8pm, the superstar veteran of the decks will play a selection of his favourite club tunes from past to present via a high-quality live audio stream provided by Manchester-based live music streaming platform Beatstream.
Graeme Park made his name more than 30 years ago in Manchester’s legendary Hacienda nightclub and has been a key part of the global live music circuit ever since.
Speaking about this weekend’s performance, he says: “For the past few months I’ve really missed DJing to a live audience and being involved in bringing people together to share great music. That’s why I’m streaming a special DJ set to celebrate my birthday via Beatstream giving everyone the chance to celebrate the live shows and performances that we’re all missing so much.
“Beatstream is a great supporter of live music and, once our venues are open again, has the potential to truly transform the way we access live performances by focusing on the sound and supporting artists directly. I’m proud to be an early adopter of this new technology and hope that other artists and venues are able to follow suit.”
Helen Fish, cofounder of Beatstream, said: “We were preparing to launch our new box office service to enable live music venues to boost their ticket sales via live streaming just as COVID-19 hit the country. Since then we’ve supported some fantastic live music events during lockdown, but we’re keen to get going again and provide a solution to some of the well documented challenges that the live music industry is currently facing.
“It’s great to have Graeme’s support for the business and we’re keen to speak with more managers, promoters, artists and venues as they make preparations for opening the live music industry back up.”
The entry fee to access the Beatstream broadcast of Graeme Park’s DJ set will be £5, allowing locked-down music fanatics to bring real nightclub vibes into their own home.
Those joining the Beatstream on Saturday are invited to use the hashtag #parkysbirthday on Twitter to request a shout out and to share their own celebrations throughout the set. Every ticket purchased will be entered into a draw to win a signed copy of Graeme’s Long Live House CD and an official Graeme Park Smiley T-shirt.
