Following popular demand The Great Northern Warehouse will be hosting its three-day Deansgate Mews Festival in 2022 – with live music, market traders and Al Fresco dining from the likes of Another Hand, The Mews Bar, Lion’s Den, Low Four and Holy Grain.

The street festival, which is located on “Deansgate Mews”, a hidden street nestled just above Deansgate will run from Friday 20 – Sunday 22 May and is completely free to attend. With the final day of the festival coinciding with the Great Manchester Run.

Guests will enjoy live entertainment across the three-day festival, from over 40 different artists and bands at Lion’s Den outdoor stage. In addition to delicious food and drink options from five unique restaurants and bars spread across an impressive outdoor seating area.

Also new to the festival this year will be a second stage located within live streaming and music recording specialists, Low Four. The entertainment schedule features a Warm-Down Disco DJ set from Marple’s third best band, Dutch Uncles’, from 10:30 until 17:00 on Sunday 22 May – the perfect way to wind down after the Great Manchester Run or busy weekend.

Alongside this, there will a pop-up Gift Emporium with local Manchester brands including floristry specialist Bahflorals, Dolly Florence selling artwork and paintings, and independent clothing brand Elize Clothing. The stalls will be offering a range of unique and quirky gifts.

The highly anticipated music line-up includes local acts such as South By Zero, The France, and Uno Mas, who will be taking centre stage to entertain guests over the three-day open-air sunshine celebrations.

There will also be delicious summer-inspired food and drink offerings from a host of independent restaurants based at Deansgate Mews, including new restaurant, Another Hand, which focuses on the process of low-intervention and locally sourced produce, as well as tasty summer cocktails. At The Mews Bar, famed for its charcuterie offering, guests will be treated to the finest of wines paired with meat and cheese sharing boards – or try the venue’s brand-new bottomless offer which features a pot of cheese fondue, tasty bits for dipping and unlimited wine and House Pilsner for 90 minutes priced at £35pp.

Festival organisers are actively inviting a range of local independent businesses to showcase their products via a market stall and meet new customers face to face at this year’s festival.

Businesses who wish to get involved, will be charged £15 per day to host a market stall, with all fees being donated to local community charity, Forever Manchester – the only charity that raises money to fund and support community activity across Greater Manchester.

Speaking about this year’s event, Mark Schofield, Centre Director for The Great Northern, Warehouse said, “Following on from last year’s success, we are delighted to bring you the return of Deansgate Mews Festival – and anticipate it will be bigger and better than ever!

Our ambition with the festival, is to invite local people along to enjoy a free weekend of music, accompanied by fantastic outdoor dining, drinks and shopping.

We are still inviting local businesses to take a market stall at the festival, so if you are an independent brand in Manchester and would like to showcase your products to festival goers across the three days, please do get in touch with emma.james@thegreatnorthern.com.”
