Police investigating the death of Steven McMyler in Wigan in August have made a fourth arrest in connection with the incident.

Steven, aged 34, was fatally kicked in the head in the gardens of Wigan Parish Church on the 6th August

One man and two boys have been already charged with Steven’s murder.

In the early hours of this morning officers arrested a 20-year-old man from Merseyside on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Wes Knights, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “Our thoughts remain with Steven’s family and friends – we have been working around the clock to investigate the full circumstances surrounding his tragic death.

“I would like to thank the public for their co-operation in providing any information they have had to help our investigation, and we have now been able to make a fourth arrest in relation to this incident.
