Class of 92 backed charity, Foundation 92 has announced several new hires on the back of rapid growth in 2021.
During the year the headcount has increased from nine to forty people with a further nine people joining the team in January 2022 across a plethora of departments including health and wellbeing, media and others across the delivery team.
This growth comes on the back of a hugely successful year for the charity which operates across North-West England.
Almost 58,000 people took part in Foundation 92’s programmes during 2021, a 1,400% increase on the previous year. 7,000 of these were part of the wider Holiday Activity Programme and 2,480 as part of the health and wellbeing programmes delivered by Foundation 92.
Foundation 92 also delivered over 20,000 food and activity packs during the pandemic providing vulnerable families with basic food supplies as well as a selection of physical activities they could complete in their homes to encourage health and wellbeing and reduce the feeling of isolation.
This was supported with over 1,700 Christmas gifts which were delivered by members of the Class of 92, Salford City FC and partners across a number of housing estates in Salford and Greater Manchester as part of the #F92DecembertoRemember campaign.
Head of Foundation 92, Tom Hutton said: “I am delighted to see such incredible growth over the course of the last 18 months and to be able to see what a tangible difference we have made to so many across the Greater Manchester region is truly humbling.
“We have engaged with almost 7,000 individuals over the course of 2021 and provided almost 10,000 outreach programmes. This is a huge achievement, and it couldn’t be done without our incredible Foundation 92 team our amazing partners , including our Principal Partner 1st Central.
“It is fantastic to welcome nine new team members to Foundation 92. I am sure they will be a great addition to the team and be integral in continuing to grow the charity.”
24,000 individual visits have taken place as part of the wider school programme in place and almost 10,000 individual visits have taken place in Foundation 92’s outreach programmes.
Launched in 2018 by Class of 92, the charity works across Greater Manchester region focusing on supporting people to improve their lives through sport, with an emphasis on positive physical and mental wellbeing.
Foundation 92 also works with the wider community offering help to those living with additional needs and disabilities, those tackling homelessness and young people who may be at risk of committing offences.
