One suspect remains in custody on suspicion of murder, with the other seven teenagers being released as police continue to investigate the murder of sixteen year old Kennie Carter in Stretford on Saturday night

Five teenagers released remain on bail with strict conditions and two more have been eliminated from the inquiry.

16-year-old Kennie Carter suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest on Thirlmere Avenue.

His death has prompted a murder investigation by our Major Incident Team that has so far questioned eight suspects, spoken to a number of witnesses, and is making extensive forensic and CCTV enquiries as police activity continues at pace.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to contact the major incident hotline, and are particularly keen for any footage taken between 6-7pm that night in the Moss Road, Davyhulme Road, and Thirlmere Avenue areas to be submitted to their online portal: https://mipp.police.uk/operation/06GMP22S43-PO1
