Firefighters are currently tackling a blaze at Trafford Park with smoke being seen across Greater Manchester
The blaze broke out around 1.20 at a premises on Clarence Avenue in Trafford Park, involving part of a factory building.
In a statement Greater Manchester Fire said
“Crews are currently dealing with a fire at an industrial unit in Trafford Park.
Please keep windows and doors shut if you are in the surrounding area and avoid the location while emergency services work at the scene.“
In an update around 5.30 the fire service said
Twelve fire engines and additional specialist support appliances attended the scene, and crews quickly deployed jets to fight the fire.
Firefighters are likely to remain on the scene into the evening and overnight to tackle the fire, make the area safe and ensure there is no risk to neighbouring properties, before an investigation commences into the cause.
Nearby properties are advised to keep their windows and doors shut while the incident remains ongoing.
