Firefighters have been battling a blaze on the West Yorkshire Moors this afternoon

Crews were called at around 1.30pm today to the fire at Butterley Reservoir, Wessenden Road in Marsden.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service tweeted in the last half hour

“The fire has now grown to measure around 1km x 1km and extra engines have joined from Odsall, Mirfield, Cleckheaton & Meltham to join the crews already in attendance from Ossett, Keighley, Todmorden, Halifax & Skelmanthorpe. A drone is in use & the Argocat & wildfire support.”
