Lancashire Cricket can confirm that Farington Cricket Ground will host four First Team fixtures during the 2026 season.

The confirmation comes after two Lancashire Men’s Second XI T20 fixtures were successfully staged behind closed doors at the venue on Tuesday 30 June, providing the first major test of both the professional playing surface and the wider venue facilities.

Lancashire Men will play the first two matches at the venue in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, facing Kent Spitfires on Tuesday 28 July before taking on Notts Outlaws on Thursday 30 July.

Lancashire Women will then play two Metro Bank One-Day Cup fixtures at Farington Cricket Ground, hosting Surrey on Thursday 3 September before welcoming Durham on Sunday 6 September.

The ground will host a test event on Wednesday 8 July, when up to 1,000 Members and supporters will have the opportunity to watch a match at the venue for the first time.

Following on from the test event next week, tickets for the first four matches at Farington Cricket Ground will be available to book for 2026 Lancashire Members at 10am on Wednesday 15 July – before going on general sale at 10am on Wednesday 22 July.

Director of Cricket Performance Mark Chilton said: “It was great to be at Farington Cricket Ground earlier this week to see the venue host its first Second XI fixtures, and I was really pleased with how everything came together.

“Following positive feedback from both the players and umpires involved, we’re delighted to confirm that four First Team matches this summer will now be played there – across both our men’s and women’s teams.

“I’d like to thank our grounds team, and everyone involved, for their outstanding efforts in getting the pitch ready. We’re all looking forward to four fantastic days of cricket here later this summer, in addition to a calendar of upcoming community cricket events.”
