The search for a new trader is on, as market specialist Crafty Vintage is looking for a new maker or seller to help mentor and get their business off the ground.

Packed with purveyors of classic vintage, collectables and retro wares, this social gathering of various vintage market offerings has popped up all over Lancashire, Cumbria and the Greater Manchester every year for the past seven years. This year the owners are looking to help mentor and grow a new business into a successful brand with the help of their skills and expertise.

Crafty Vintage is a family run business that has been pitching up markets and hosting events since 2011. The idea was formed to create the perfect retail environment for small independent traders to flourish, including Manchester stalwarts, Honest Crust, who first began their journey into the market world by hosting their stall at the Crafty Vintage markets.

Honest Crust Sourdough Pizza started their journey with Crafty Vintage back in 2012 where they built a solid following and the experience they needed to turn their idea into a successful business, making the freshest pizzas in Manchester and Altrincham.

With the ongoing support and guidance from how to operate in a market environment to how to market their business on social, Crafty Vintage has played host to many businesses who have travelled on this journey from start to end and the team is well placed establishment to help others grow.

Along with food traders, Crafty Vintage has so much to offer with it’s range of makers and sellers and is a regular series of events where like-minded folk can meet, socialise, share ideas and gather inspiration.

Laura Johnson, owner of Crafty Vintage expresses her views on the search; We have worked with some amazing traders over the years and our events are a fantastic opportunity for new talent to thrive.  We realise the importance of marketing and promotion and we genuinely want all of our exhibitors to do well. This year, we are looking for a small business to help to develop and grow. We can help with merchandising, branding and helping to develop sales skills.

Another business that Crafty Vintage have helped in the past is The BIG Stone Art who held their first stall at Crafty Vintage back in June 2016. Magnificent products of artwork made from stone created lots of interest but few sales.  The team suggested doing some smaller replicas of the larger pieces, BIG Stone’s ‘bread and butter” and making designs that are more affordable and easier to take away on the day. The BIG Stone Art now create and sell these along with planters, both now some of their faster moving lines.

Crafty Vintage is waiting to hear from businesses with big ideas, looking for guidance and mentoring. Anyone wishing to enter should contact hello@downatthesocial.co.uk with examples of work and a summary of why they should be considered.
