The family of a man who died in Droylsden have paid tribute to him, as an enquiry into his murder continues.

47-year-old Ian Bent was found with stab wounds inside a property on Redesmere Close, Droylsden in the early hours of Friday morning and died in hospital
a short while later.

Dean Farrell,21 of Redesmere Close, Droylsden appeared at Manchester Magistrates Court yesterday. He has been remanded in custody pending his next appearance at Manchester Crown Court tomorrow.

Paying tribute to Ian, his family said: “Our loving father, Ian, was our everything and more. He was a friend to many and loved by all. He would have always gone above and beyond to put a smile on anyone’s face.”

“He was a brother, a father, a grandad and truly loyal friend. He had the biggest heart and made everyone happy who was around him. He was loved dearly and taken far too soon.

“We as a family, and close friends, are beyond heartbroken with his loss, and it will forever change our lives.”
