Police have secured a three-month closure order on a property in the Failsworth area following intelligence gathered within the community.
On 21 January, officers visited the property on Brown Street and gained entry. It has been suspected of offering sexual services and engaging in prostitution offences.
One woman, aged 26, was arrested on suspicion of keeping a brothel for prostitution .
Another woman, aged 27, was arrested on suspicion of immigration offences. The former was bailed while the latter remains detained for further investigations.
A closure notice was issued on the property that night and a three-month order has been granted at court preventing anyone from entering the premises until April, with further reviews to be taken.
Inspector Amie Whitehead said: “We are committed to ensuring the appropriate safeguards are in place for vulnerable people and where we suspect criminality and other offences, we will look to thoroughly investigate them.
“I would like to thank the community for supporting us with intelligence as part of this work – all information assists us and I would urge anyone with any issues to get in touch with us.”
