Manchester born artist, poet and musician Sonny Baker Royle, aka Dogwasher, will be exhibiting his first solo show at SEESAW, Manchester from Friday 10th February – Friday 10th March.

Interested in cross pollinating genres and practices to create visceral, interactive and accessible works, Dogwasher primarily uses recycled and found materials to make visual poems which comprise collage, painting and poetry.

Having spent the last year living and travelling in Spain; Dogwasher accumulated influences from people, books and toilet walls, to develop his current practice. He is interested in reality, vulnerability, masculinity, hypocrisy and Pop Culture.

Dogwasher writes experiences and thoughts in notebooks before using visual media to actualise these using cathartic ‘painting’ methods into visual poems. As he comments:

“I am really excited to present this collection to the public for the first time, stepping outside my notebooks; a visual culmination of writing and collecting source material from my first year outside of Manchester and to see it all up together in my hometown.”

The exhibition launch on Friday 10th February 7-9pm will be free entry, and there will be a DJ and refreshments on the night.

Fanzines, Stickers and Handmade DogWasher merchandise will be available to purchase, as well as artwork.

The exhibition will run until Friday 10th March during open hours of SEESAW.

DogWasher is also currently exhibiting at Rag Gallery, Chorlton, Manchester and Murkhasya Galería, Barcelona.
