Chorlton’s newly reimagined bar and restaurant, The Garden Bar (formerly The Font), is continuing its exciting new era of events with actor Jeff Hordley as the first in a series of special guest DJs. Jeff will be taking to the decks next Friday 28th November, spinning an eclectic mix of tunes from 8.30pm until late – and entry is completely free!
Best known for his long-running role on ITV’s Emmerdale, Jeff is no stranger to Manchester’s music scene and is a passionate music lover and avid vinyl collector. Before his acting career took off, he was a regular DJ at the legendary Rock n Roll Bar in Manchester city centre (now South), where he played weekly sets to packed crowds. Jeff has also DJed at several much-loved Chorlton club nights over the years, including Bop Local, Electrik’s one-deck sessions and Fusion, cementing his reputation as a familiar and well-loved DJ. Jeff’s return to the decks at The Garden Bar promises a fun night full of great music and good vibes, driven by the same energy and charisma audiences know him for on screen.
“DJing has always been important to me ~ it’s something I did long before acting took over, and it’s still one of my favourite ways to connect with people through music. I’m really looking forward to being back behind the decks in Chorlton ~ I’ve got a real soft spot for the area and it’s always had such a brilliant energy. I’ll be playing some of the tunes I’ve loved for years: a mix of indie, northern soul, a bit of funk…and a few surprises I’ve picked up along the way! I’ll be dedicating the night to Mani ~ he was such a legend and a lovely soul.”
This night will mark the start of The Garden Bar’s brand-new guest DJ series, which will feature well-known faces alongside talented local DJs ~ part of the venue’s mission to bring music, comedy, community, and great food together under one roof. Recently taken over and now proudly family-run, The Garden Bar’s new owners are passionate about making it a hub for the Chorlton community, with regular events, comedy nights, and themed food evenings already planned for the months ahead.
