Elle for Elle have launched their ‘Christmas Gift Set Campaign’  in aid of women who have escaped domestic abuse.

The campaign which looks to ensure no women wake up on Christmas morning without a gift are asking the general public to donate a cosmetic gift set to pick up points across the city.

The campaign, which is now in its second year has ensured over 1027 women do not wake up on Christmas morning without a gift.

Elle for Elle Founders Rachel O Hare and Lynette Page Collin said ‘We are delighted that the Christmas Gift Set campaign is returning this year and we are determined to go beyond 1027 gifts donated from the previous year.

“We want to make sure every woman who has escaped domestic violence and abuse across the country feel special on Christmas morning waking up with a gift”.

The campaign will be collecting gift sets across Manchester & Cheshire with Barry’s Bootcamp, No.1 Spinningfields, Bonded Warehouse & City Tower confirmed as drop off points across the city centre.

Elle for Elle is a charitable foundation dedicated to helping women and girls who have been brave enough to escape abusive relationships and are moving into refuges.

‘Dignity after Distress’, Elle for Elle’s main campaign, aims to help vulnerable women maintain dignity and practice self-care – by keeping bathrooms and cupboards of refuges stocked with beauty products, as well as providing beauty days for women to enjoy.

Elle for Elle also looks to provide women with qualifications and skills in beauty to ensure they have the opportunity to work within salons or for themselves after leaving refuges.

Recently receiving praise in Westminster for giving the nation’s most vulnerable women ‘moments of dignity’, Elle for Elle aims to raise awareness for the plight of thousands of women and even more children housed in women’s refuges throughout the UK.

The gift set campaign is expanding to Manchester City Centre having previously only been in Cheshire.

Rachel O’Hare added “The expansion of the campaign to include Manchester highlights the commitment we have here at Elle for Ellefor raising awareness of our charity & trying to reach our target for this year. We want the whole of Manchester & Cheshire to get behind us in order to make this a success”.
