Two goals and a referee knocked out cold after an accidental collision as both teams shared the points in this eagerly contested Derby at the Butcher’s arms.

The referee Alan Clayton collided with Droylsden winger Billy Hasler Cregg midway through the second half and whilst he was down on the floor, Mossley had put the ball in the Bloods net but the goal was controversially ruled out as the referee was deemed unable to award it.

It was the home team who started the brighter Hasler Cregg forcing an early save from the Lillywhites keeper Liam Flynn and skipper James Hampson firing over with the keeper stranded minutes later.

At the other end Dave Short shot just wide of the Droylsden goal.

The Bloods broke the deadlock on twenty five minutes when a Hasler Cregg cross was converted by James Hampson but Mossley had a great chance to equalise at the other end when Godwin Abadaki was put through only to shoot tamely at Steve James while at the other end a Dan Grimshaw cross failed to find the heads of the Bloods strikers.

The away side started the second half the more lively and after the disallowed goal were finally reawarded with an equaliser from Abadaki after Droylsden failed to clear and a ball over the top found the striker.

Both teams had chances to win the game with Bloods thinking they had equalised deep into injury time only to be denied by the offside flag but a draw was probably a fair result.

The result leave the Bloods in 15th spot in 24 points from 22 games and they travel to Trafford on Saturday for their next league game
