Suella Braverman has accused Rishi Sunak of having “manifestly and repeatedly failed to deliver” on key policies and said his “distinctive style of government means you are incapable of doing so”, in her resignation letter issued this afternoon

He also accused Sunak of a “betrayal” of his promise to do “whatever it takes” to stop small boat crossings by failing to override human rights concerns about the Rwanda plan and urged him  to “change course urgently”, telling him he has led the Conservatives to “record election defeats” and that his “resets have failed and we are running out of time”

She said that the Prime Minister had no personal mandate and and that he never had any intention of keeping his promises

‘Someone needs to be honest, your plan is not working. We have endured record election defeats. Your resets have failed, and we’re running out of time. You need to change course urgently.’

Earlier today Danny Kruger and Miriam Cates, co-chairs of the New Conservatives, accusef Rishi Sunak of ‘abandoning’ Red Wall voters

They say he is ‘sacrificing’ seats in the North and Midlands to shore up support in the South
