DM21 returns for 2021, Hybrid Space, a limited series of real world and virtual events, taking place from 15th – 19th November and focusing on local and global co-design by communities and creatives.
The festival will focus on the myriad ways the pandemic has opened up dialogue and connections with people around the world, via a series of events that also provide the opportunity for Manchester’s design community to reconnect locally.
On Thurs 18 November, the DM21 Party is happening, this year at Low Four, the new online music TV platform, recording studio, venue and Cloudwater bar on Deansgate Mews at Great Northern Warehouse. A place for us to reconnect and socialise, from 6pm till late.
This will be an evening of drinks galore and dance-floor filling beats provided by a stellar line-up of some of the city’s finest DJs, curated by the one and only P-Ro.
‘P-Ro Presents…’ will be bringing you DJ sets from music fiend, actress, broadcaster, performer and artist Jenna G, garms dealer, professional chatterbox and big tune selector Meme Gold, and one of Manchester’s exploding soul scene, neo-soul collective Lovescene, to keep you shuffling long into the night.
Throughout 2021, not-for-profit organisation Design Manchester has focused on global collaborations, delivering hybrid projects with people and communities around the world, linking diverse communities, designers and artists.
Partners include Nairobi Design Week, Shenzhen Fringe Art Center, SICK! Festival, 2NQ, MODA-FAD in Barcelona and universities in Manchester, Salford, Reading, York, Birmingham, Barcelona, Milan, Dortmund and Stuttgart, in a programme supported by the British Council and Manchester School of Art at Manchester Metropolitan University.
