The Labour MP for Oldham Jim McMahon has written to the Health Secretary to ask why Oldham is still under more stringent restrictions than the rest of Greater Manchester.
The MP points out that since the restrictions were put in place over a month ago, while rates have continued to rise, many places in Greater Manchester and in other areas of the country has risen at a greater rate.
He writes that there is real confusion about the complexity of the rules in differing areas and also raises serious doubts as to whether the restrictions are having any effect.
“We’ve been banned from meeting other households outside for 5 weeks. We cannot become a forgotten borough.” he tweeted this morning and asks that any future restrictions should come with robust evidence
