A cyclist is in a serious condition in hospital following a collision in Didsbury just after midnight this morning
A blue Honda Civic had collided with a man on a bicycle on Kingsway at the junction with Fog Lane.
Emergency services attended and the 31-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Honda remained at the scene to speak with officers and no arrests have been made.
Enquiries are ongoing.
Police Inspector Danny Byrne, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The man is currently in hospital receiving treatment for some really serious head and leg injuries and our thoughts remain with him and his family.
“We are working to establish the circumstances surrounding this collision and are asking for any witnesses or anyone with any dash-cam or CCTV footage to get in touch.
“If you have any information that could assist with our enquiries, please contact us as soon as possible.”
