Following the shock closure of Manchester Pride 2025, hundreds of freelance creatives — from performers to producers — have been left unpaid, with more than £1.3 million reportedly owed.

In response, a group of affected artists including Adam Carver (Fatt Butcher), Jonathan Banks (Banksie), Lucky Roy Singh, and Nathaniel J Hall have launched the Together for Creatives Fund, aiming to raise £50,000 to support independent LGBTQ+ freelancers now facing severe financial hardship.

“Pride isn’t just a festival—it’s a creative movement powered by freelancers,” said Nathaniel J Hall. “Many are now struggling to pay rent or keep their businesses open. We can’t wait for lengthy liquidation processes.

“Manchester Pride is estimated to bring in £34 million for the local economy every year. The amount we’re trying to raise represents less than 0.5% of that. It’s time for businesses and the community to step up.”

With an initial target of £50k, funds raised will prioritise independent LGBTQ+ freelancers facing financial hardship due to Manchester Pride’s closure, including performers, producers, DJs, photographers, and other creative professionals. Eligibility will require proof of contract and unpaid fees, with the aim to distribute funds before the winter holiday season.

As Manchester begins to rebuild Pride for 2026, organisers are working with unions and local partners to ensure fair and transparent support for independent creatives. But the call to action is urgent
