This Friday sees the launch of the first ever Castlefield Food Festival at the Castlefield Bowl, Manchester. With an impressive line-up of top Manchester restaurants, great local chefs, food writers, street food traders and local producers, this event should really satisfy your inner foodie.

Kicking off the festivities will be Britain’s Got Talent Finalists, the Bar Wizards, who will host their own unique brand of cocktail making in an interactive demo at 5pm. They will be followed by “A Band Apart”; a Quentin Tarantino Tribute Band, bringing to life some of the best loved tunes from iconic Tarantino. On Saturday, we welcome Shameless star Jody Latham as he takes on food writers and bloggers such as Neil Sowerby and Simon Binns in a Cook-off Challenge hosted by top chef, Robert Owen Brown.

As Saturday night falls, Castlefield goes Spanish as Festejar presents Salsa de Cuba and funky Spanish crossover band Break Latino, while Tom Bridges, Mike Jennings, Claire Kelsey and David Mooney take over the stage on Sunday to show off their culinary skills in the festival’s purpose built demo kitchen, all washed down with some ‘beer cocktails’ and even more live music.

The highlight of the festival is the food line up with some of Manchester’s best restaurants in attendance including Dukes 92, Dimitris, Veeno, 1847, La Vina, the Molly House and street food traders such as the Fabulous Burger Boys, Als BBQ and Big Star. VinVanVoom will be providing some fizz with the farmers market boasting traders such as Bobby’s Bangers, Gingers Comfort Emporium, Orchard House Pate, Companio Bakery and Icky Sticky Cakes.

The Castlefield Food Festival runs 15th – 17th May and is free to attend, featuring entertainment for all the family.  For more information visit the website: www.castlefieldfoodfestival.co.uk
